  1. Some people like travel books that give every little detail about a location: which side of the street to stand on when you go here; what flavor ice cream to taste when you go there. If you’re going to Israel and, like me, you don’t have the time or patience for 900 pages worth of details, I highly recommend the Globetrotter Travel Guide ISRAEL.

The book provides concise and informative descriptions of the major sites you’ll want to see when you visit Israel, as well as many lesser known locations. It also provides tips and alerts, but doesn’t overwhelm you with details.

At 5″ x 7″ in size, the guide fits neatly into a knapsack or large handbag. Buy the edition that comes with the pull-out travel map. It has a soft plastic book jacket that protects the book from wet weather and conveniently holds the pull-out map for easy access.

After my trip, I bought a copy for my sister and my nephew to take with them when they visit Israel this year.

  2. Used the tour guide extensively that gave me suggestions of where to go and what to do……when there the rest was up to me as not very much info was available in the book except minimum summaries. Still, I consider the book as a good guide.
