The 2008 edition of the book was our BIBLE for the trip my husband, our 8-year old son, and I took in October of 2008. I relied on it for everything — whether to buy the meal plan and at what level, fast pass tips, restaurant suggestions, money-saving tips, age-appropriateness of rides, etc. Before our departure, I sat down with the book and planned our itinerary, which turned out perfectly and saved us from wasting lots of time and money. Upon our return, I e-mailed Ms. Wiley to let her know about our trip and our impressions of rides, our hotel, the shuttle service, etc. She e-mailed back immediately, requesting additional information, which she incorporated into the 2009 edition.
Well worth your money! A must-read before any trip to Disney with children! We are headed to D.C. this year, and I wish Ms. Wiley had written the Fodor’s guide to D.C., as well!
This book is very helpful in planning our trip to Disney World in May with a two-year-old.
The author of this book is a genius! Her insight is invaluable. We bought her 2006 book for our last trip and we credit the success of our vacation to this book and its spot-on advice. I can see that the 2010 version is just as exceptional, with lots of new updates. A must-have purchase if you’re traveling to Disney with little kids!
I have purchased this book every year for last few years. I found this book very useful for planning this trip for our 2 young kids. I especially like the quick guides included that provide a scare factor, height requirement, speed of line and duration of the ride for each of the rides. This comes in handy when deciding if a ride is appropriate for a particular child or if you are trying to get a ride in just before a dinner reservation. The author gives a good description of just about every ride and also provides many good time-saving tips. There is also much, much more very useful information included.
When visiting Disney you should always go with a plan otherwise you will need a vacation from your vacation. I recommend reading a book like this beforehand.
It seems like the new annual version comes out every August. The 2011 version is already on Amazon for pre-order (Fodor’s Walt Disney World with Kids 2011: with Universal Orlando, SeaWorld & Aquatica (Special-Interest Titles)).
This is a Wonderful book to have if you are going to Walt Disney World with Children. It has all the information in it that you need to know. I have read several of the Disney Guides, and I must say that this one ranks among the best. It will not only save you money on your trip, but it will give you so much insight. Take it with you when you go, you will be glad you did!
